Dear Sheri and Paul, Luke and Lisa,
Thank you for the $5.00 that you sent me. On my birthday we went to a place called Bannack out by Dillon. It was a ghost town that used to be a gold mining community. They had gold panning, horse rides, roping and black smithing. The black smith made a coat hanger, a really fancy coat hook with a golden leaf on one end. He showed us how he made it from black iron to gold. He used a brass brush that melted off when it was hot. There were lots of singing. They had a lot of musicians and cowboy poets on the streets. They had a church and all that we did there was sing some old hymns.
I put the five dollars into the bank with some other money that was sent. I’m saving to buy some new roller blades because I grew out of my old ones. I like roller blading a lot. We’ve gotten a street hockey team in our neighborhood. We’ve changed our names a bunch of times. Now we’re sticking with King Grizzlies. Our coach is a kid who was on Neal’s soccer team. His name is Bryant.
Some of my other friends on the team are Ethan, Tanner, Neal and Ricky. We also play basketball, ride bikse.
Love,
Thad
